Durham University Conservative Association

Durham University Conservative Association (DUCA) is Durham's largest, fastest growing and most active political and social network.

We host a wide range of exciting events: debates, dinners, socials and campaigning, and are lucky enough to attract high profile speakers – these have recently included Sir Graham Brady MP (Chair of the 1922 Committee), Matt Hancock MP (then Secretary of State for Digital and Culture, currently Secretary of State for Health), Professor John Curtice (President of the National Polling Council, BBC polling guru) and John Penrose MP (former Secretary of State for Heritage and Tourism). DUCA also endeavours to connect our members with fellow conservatives across the UK, ensuring they enjoy the very best networking opportunities to get that extra piece of work experience if you wish, and to bolster your future job prospects.

We relish debate on hot political topics – our regular Port & Policy and Pint & Policy forums encourage all members to express their views, covering issues from welfare and defence to drugs legalisation and the justice system. On the horizon are addresses from prominent political figures, campaigning days, and further opportunities to engage with the national media: in recent years DUCA members have featured on Newsnight, Question Time, and Daily Politics.

Please do explore our website to find out more about what we in DUCA do and how you can get involved. If you have any questions, please contact us or join us for a chat at one of our many events. We look forward to hearing from you, and hopefully meeting you soon!
