The DUCA Constitution 2019
Defining our values and objectives...
To educate Association members and the wider population of Durham University of the values of conservatism and principles and policies of the United Kingdom Conservative and Unionist Party. To do so in a fair and balanced manner, acknowledging and engaging with the existence of opposing thought. To promote intra-party discourse and deliberation by nurturing innovative new ideas.
To be an enthusiastic proponent of and effective platform for inter-party debate. In doing so we shall seek to promote co-operation with alternative political societies, bridging ideological gaps with the common objective of free, fair and plural politics. We provide a forum for like-minded people to meet, socialise and network in a leisurely and political environment.
To provide a voice for conservatism in Durham University and beyond. This shall include but shall not be limited to the campaigning for Conservative Party candidates in local and national elections and campaigning for conservative causes such as referenda or petitions.
To not deprive any individual of their rightful voice within the Association based on perceived divergence of reasonable political values. Similarly, the Association shall engage in the promotion of equal opportunities for those of any gender, sexuality, age or race.
