Debate - This House Believes that Baroness Thatcher was Britain's Finest Post War Prime Minister
This is the first Durham Union Society debate of the year and is open to everybody in the University. This debate featured Lord Howell (Margret Thatcher's former energy secretary), Charles Heslop (President of the National Conservative Convention) and Jackie Doyle-Price MP standing against David Hopper (the President of the Durham Miners Union) and Allan Cummings (Chairman of the Durham Miners Union). The speakers argued for their cases passionately and the debate within the audience was engaging and stimulating as well.
